2/4 16:24: I’ll backtrack on this since Buster Olney says that Hudson is “closing in” on a $5 million deal with the Twins.
2/4 15:32: According to Curtis Kitchen of Sports Radio 810 WHB, the Minnesota Twins and free agent second baseman Orlando Hudson have agreed to a deal.
Hudson has been speaking with several teams this off season including the Tampa Bay Rays, Washington Nationals, Seattle Mariners, New York Mets, Detroit Tigers and Colorado Rockies. It was believed that he was close to signing with the Washington Nationals, but they could not come to an agreement on price.
Hudson, 33, hit 9 home runs, drove in 62 RBIs and had a .283 batting average with Los Angeles last season while making the All Star team and taking home a Gold Glove. You can see Hudson’s contract history and statistics here. We have new graphs, so please check it out.
