According to Geoff Baker of The Seattle Times, they suggest that the Seattle Mariners may be bringing back Erik Bedard:

  • Nobody knows when Bedard can pitch in a Major League game.  Some speculate it could be May 2010.  Some say he won’t be ready the entire first half of the season.
  • The Mariner’s trainer, Rick Griffin was quoted, “He’s going into therapy three or four times a week, and he’s working out at home. I talked to him, and he said he feels really, really good. He’s making good progress.”
  • Any offers to Bedard are likely to be loaded with incentives, much more so than what Rich Harden received from the Rangers.
  • The Mariners are expected to make their five-man rotation assuming that Bedard will not be apart of it.  If Bedard shows signs of recovering you can expect teams to start bidding on him come April.
  • Yahoo via The Sporting News indicates that the Orioles and Royals also have expressed interest in Bedard.
  • You can see Bedard’s statistics here.
